Pattli Makkal Katchi (PMK) president Anbumani Ramadoss on Friday (February 27, 2026) condemned the sexual assault of a two-and-half-year old child in Krishnagiri district, causing her death, allegedly by a DMK youth wing functionary, who has since been arrested.

In a statement, Dr. Anbumani claimed: “Since the DMK came to power, all types of crimes, including sexual assaults, murders, and robberies, have increased across Tamil Nadu. Whenever the DMK comes to power, a situation arises where party officials feel they have been granted a ‘licence’ to commit crimes, including drug trafficking, sexual assault, murder, and robbery.”

He recalled that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had once spoken about becoming a “dictator” if his party members committed crimes, and claimed “he is now standing by, with his hands tied and mouth shut.” This “inaction” is the reason such criminal activities are on the rise.

“The DMK government’s ‘achievement’ has been ruining the State to the extent that 2.2 million kilograms of ganja are in circulation annually. Under the DMK rule, crimes against women have increased by 54% and crimes against children by 61%. The DMK government must take full responsibility for these atrocities,” he said.
