Kannada actress Aishwarya has come under the spotlight following news of her arrest in connection with a director kidnapping case. On Thursday, Bengaluru police arrested her for the kidnapping, assault, and robbery of movie director Anish.

Why was Kannada actress Aishwarya arrested?
The actress was arrested in connection with director kidnapping case. For the unversed, director Anish, who runs a modelling and casting agency and was helming the film Jeevada Bhasha, had travelled to Bengaluru from Mumbai on February 9. He was reportedly told that a buyer was interested in purchasing his Honda CRV. What followed, however, has now become the centre of a serious criminal investigation linked to the alleged kidnapping case.
According to investigators, Anish was taken to a house on the outskirts of the city. There, a group allegedly led by the main accused, Ashirav, is said to have assaulted him with sticks and pressured him to withdraw earlier complaints connected to financial dealings.
The dispute is believed to involve a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh and a film investment of around Rs 5 to 6 lakh. Police say the director was allegedly robbed of gold jewellery and cash, forced into a car, and assaulted again near a toll area. The accused are also suspected of withdrawing money using his ATM card before he was later hospitalised.
