Chief Secretary highlights Energy Department’s infrastructure, welfare improvements

Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand said the Energy Department was consistently focusing on augmenting infrastructure facilities, modernising systems, and enhancing employee welfare in order to achieve the government’s objective of strengthening institutional capacity and delivering efficient and reliable power to the consumers. 

Addressing senior officers and staff of the power utilities after laying foundation stone for the APSEB Engineers’ Association (APSEBEA) guest house at Vidyut Soudha here on Thursday, Mr. Vijayanand said the government has taken concrete steps to improve institutional infrastructure in the Energy Department since 2017, and highlighted the creation of some major facilities, including the Vidyut Soudha (headquarters of AP-Genco and AP-Transco). 

The Chief Secretary appreciated the initiative of the association towards capacity building and contributing to knowledge sharing. 

AP-Genco in-charge Managing Director P. Pulla Reddy, AP-Transco Directors A.K.V. Bhaskar, J.V. Rao and N.V. Ramana Murthy, AP-Genco Directors M. Sujaya Kumar, P. Ashok Kumar Reddy and V. Usha, AP Power Development Company Limited Director K. Srinivasa Rao, CPDCL Directors A. Murali Krishna Yadav, S. Venkateswarlu, T.V.S.N. Murthy and APSEBEA office-bearers N. Samuel, K. Naga prasad, K. Venkata Rama Rao, D. Nagaraju and others were present.
