The Communist Party of India (Marxist) and its allied organisations staged protests at various points in Ernakulam district after Health Minister Veena George was allegedly injured during a protest by Kerala Students Union (KSU) activists at the Kannur railway station on Wednesday (February 25, 2026).

CPI(M) district secretary S. Sathish led the protest march at Pulluvazhi in Perumbavoor, while the party’s local and area committees staged demonstrations across the district.

Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activists took out a march and organised a protest meet in Perumbavoor town. DYFI district president Nikhil Babu inaugurated the meet.

No untoward incidents were reported during the protests.
