Various organisations have decided to stage protests in Hubballi and Bagalkot on Thursday condemning the stone-throwing incident reported during a Shivaji procession in Bagalkot recently.

Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Tuesday, Karnataka North co-convener of Bajrang Dal Shivanand Sattigeri said that a protest will be held at Ambedkar Circle in Hubballi and Sri Ram Sena national president Pramod Mutalik will participate in it.

A similar protest will also take place simultaneously in Bagalkot, he said.

Mr. Sattigeri demanded the arrest of all those involved in the incident.

Mr. Pramod Mutalik said that he has been barred from entering Bagalkot district for a month and that he has challenged that decision in court.

He demanded stringent action against those responsible for the incident and warned that the agitation will continue until the issue is addressed.

He also said that the authorities have taken only nominal action despite police personnel being injured during the incident. Stating that only a few arrests have been made, Mr. Mutalik accused the State government of being partisan. He said that such incidents are recurring due to administrative inaction.

He also demanded action against the mosque committee.

Jai Bhim Sangha State president Vishwanath Godur, Bhagat Singh Seva Sangh president Vishal Jadav and others were present.
