Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patil warned that vehicles with modified silencers or horns causing noise pollution will be seized and fined.

In a month-long special drive, Kurnool sub-division and traffic police had confiscated 100 modified silencers and 500 loud horns fitted to autorickshaws. The seized items were destroyed by a road-roller near Kondareddy Fort in the city, on Saturday.

Speaking to media, Mr. Vikrant Patil said some youngsters were modifying silencers and horns, causing inconvenience to the people, particularly during the night. Following complaints from the general public, the special drive was conducted. He warned that action would be taken against the owners, if a vehicle was found modified violating the Motor Vehicle Act. The SP asked the people to cooperate with the police by adhering to traffic rules and road safety norms.
