Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday (February 20, 2026) received the first copy of Tamil Nadu Legislature – A Journey in Legislating and Policy Making, a coffee-table book published by The Hindu Group, from Speaker M. Appavu, who released the book at the Secretariat.

An official press release said the book “recalls landmark legislations and initiatives” such as the Temple Entry Authorisation Act (1939), the Sales Tax Act (1939), the Devadasi Abolition Act (1947), and the law enacted in 1989 to provide equal property rights to women.

“The book comprises nine chapters featuring rare historical photographs, Assembly proceedings, and details related to financial statements and budgets,” the release said.

Deputy Speaker K. Pitchandi, Government Chief Whip G. Ramachandran, Assembly Secretary K. Srinivasan, and senior officials were present on the occasion.
