Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to review the developmental activities of Vizianagaram district in the backdrop of construction of the Bhogapuram International Airport and proposed plans for the quick economic progress of Visakhapatnam region. As Vizianagaram is close to Visakhapatnam city, the government is keen to utilise land banks in the district for the quick development of entire North Andhra region.

Vizianagaram Collector S.Ramsundar Reddy, Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan directed officials to prepare constituency-wise developmental plans which would be submitted to the Chief Minister at the review meeting scheduled for March 4, it is likely to be conducted either in Amaravati or Visakhapatnam. Mr. Ramsundar Reddy said that constituency-wise developmental plans would enable the government to select right industries and projects based on the availability of natural and human resources.

Recently, the district attracted around ₹10,000 crore worth investments. A steel plant of Super Smelter company has been proposed in Cheepurupalli constituency and a green energy project of PVS Rammohan Industries would come up in Rajam constituency. Vizianagaram, Nellimarla constituencies are expected to witness huge growth in realty and other sectors with the construction of the airport. The district administration is hopeful that a few IT companies would come up between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram as land had been identified for the establishment of software companies.
