Three killed in separate accidents in Bengaluru

A 24-year-old engineering student was killed in a road accident on his birthday near Soladevanahalli on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Pavan Kumar, 24, a resident of Thotada Guddadahalli. He was pursuing his engineering studies and working part-time.

According to the police, Pavan celebrated his birthday with friends and was returning home on his bike around 5.30 p.m. While he was riding from Kakolu Dairy Farm towards IHR layout, a speeding goods vehicle coming from the opposite direction allegedly collided with his bike.

Due to the impact, Pavan sustained severe head and limb injuries. He was shifted to a hospital , where doctors declared him dead.

The goods vehicle driver reportedly fled from the scene after abandoning the vehicle. Chikkabanavara Traffic Police registered a case. Preliminary investigation suggested that rash and negligent driving by the goods vehicle driver led to the accident.

Woman killed after tempo hits scooter

In another incident, a 25-year-old woman died after an allegedly speeding tempo traveller hit the scooter she was riding pillion on Mico Layout 29th Main Road on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kajol, 25, a native of Odisha, who was working at a private firm and was returning home after work.

She fell onto the road and was run over by the tempo traveller, killing her on the spot.

The Mico Layout Traffic Police have registered a case and taken the tempo traveller driver and the scooter rider into custody.

Bike rider dies after KSRTC bus collision near Doddaballapur

In a separate accident, a 25-year-old bike rider was killed after being hit by a private bus near Gundanagere village under the limits of Doddaballapur Rural Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as Ramkumar, 25, a barber who was returning home. The police have arrested the bus driver and registered a case.
