National conference on Tech and AI in Veterinary Medicine kicks off in Chennai

Over 130 delegates from all over the country are participating at a three-day national conference on ‘Emerging Trends, Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence in Veterinary Medicine: Challenges and Opportunities’ which kicked off in the city on Monday.

It was organised jointly by Indian Society for Veterinary Medicine (ISVM) and Department of Veterinary Medicine, Madras Veterinary College. Delivering the inaugural address, Major General S.S. Balaje, Director General, Remount Veterinary Services, outlined the importance of AI for precision diagnosis in veterinary medicine, urging young veterinarians to focus on recent developments in imaging, diagnostics, and integration with machine learning AIR. 

Narendra Babu, Vice-Chancellor-in-charge and Registrar, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) said the university was working with the National Agricultural Science Fund of Indian Council for Agricultural Research on AI and IoT-based vet ecosystem for animal health, patient care, and precision farming.

R. Ramprabhu, President, ISVM, Rajiv Gaikwad, general secretary, ISVM, P. Devendran, Dean, Madras Veterinary College, S. Satheshkumar, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences, TANUVAS, were among those present.
