The BJP would begin talks on the seats it would contest and the candidates it would field in those constituencies in a month, and the talks would be concluded quickly and smoothly, BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran said on Thursday (February 12, 2026).

More parties would join the alliance in the State, he added.

“When [AIADMK general secretary] Edappadi K. Palaniswami was the Chief Minister, he provided good governance to the State. That is why we want him to become the Chief Minister again,” the BJP leader said.

“Chief Minister M.K. Stalin does not know what is happening in the State. The DMK has not fulfilled 470 election promises. Property tax and electricity charges have increased by 300% in the last four years. The Chief Minister does not understand the people’s issues. He is only concerned about his family coming back to power,” Mr. Nagenthran alleged.

“The Tamil Nadu government does not follow the rulings of the High Court. The State follows court orders only to silence the Opposition,” he said.

When asked whether former BJP State president K. Annamalai was involved in election work, he said Mr. Annamalai will be in charge of conducting street campaigns at 24,000 locations.
