The Telangana Government has made a strong pitch for commencement of works at the new airports proposed in different parts of the State.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy called on Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu at New Delhi on Thursday (February 12, 2026) and informed him that acquisition of the land required for the Mamnoor airport [Warangal] completed and works should be started at the earliest. The Civil Aviation Ministry was requested to start Obstacle Limitation Survey (OLS) and feasibility study relating to the proposed airport at Kothagudem near Palvancha, Bhadradri Kothagudem.

The request forms part of the Chief Minister’s repeated representations to the Centre for more than a year now seeking permission for the new airports, as the Government has initiated special efforts for industrial development in the State. Establishment of new airports was critical for these efforts as improved transport facilities would go a long way in accelerating setting up industries in the State.

Mr. Reddy reminded the Civil Aviation Minister that an alternative site was identified for the new airport at Antargaon on Adilabad-Maharashtra border and works could commence once necessary permissions were granted. The State Government was prepared to allot 249.82 acre additional land required for the Adilabad airport as and when required
