Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development Sharan Prakash Patil has said that the State government will establish a super specialty hospital and trauma care centre in Yadgir.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Dr. Patil said that Yadgir district needed a super specialty hospital and a trauma care centre to meet the rising demand, as presently, the patients depended on Kalaburagi for health emergencies.

He refrained from answering politically related questions and said that YIMS has recently been established and required staff will soon be filled following the guidelines, and therefore, the administration committee was asked to adhere to the norms during recruitment.

Dr. Patil said that construction of a branch of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research at Hubballi was in progress, and that it would soon be inaugurated.

Earlier, the Minister visited various departments at the District Hospital attached to YIMS and directed medical officers to maintain cleanliness and ensure immediate and proper medical care to the patients.

MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur, Dean Sandeep, president of DCC Basareddy Patil Anapur, YUDA chairman Baburao Kadlur, and others were present.
