Ambati Mounika, daughter of YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu, has alleged that Guntur West TDP MLA Galla Madhavi orchestrated an attack on their house and was responsible for their office being set on fire.

Ms. Mounika told The Hindu that at the time of the attack, only women and children were present in the house.

She alleged that a mob armed with iron rods and stones attacked the house, creating panic among the family members. “We were terrified. We locked ourselves in the bedrooms,” she said.

She alleged that the mob also attacked their office located opposite the house and later set it on fire in the evening.

Ms. Mounika claimed that videos and photographs that surfaced after the incident confirmed the presence of the TDP MLA at the scene, adding that the attack was done under ‘her supervision’. She alleged that the MLA’s husband was also present during the incident, adding that she learnt about it from the visual evidence.

She also accused the police of failing to take proper action on their complaint and of not preventing the attack.

However, M. Galla Madhavi denied the allegations.

The TDP MLA said she had gone to the house of Mr. Rambabu only to seek an apology for what she described as use of abusive language against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The MLA claimed that the violence started after she left the place. She said that her husband was also not involved in violence.

The MLA said there was no proof to show that she led the attack and described the accusations politically motivated.
