S. Satish Kumar took charge as the new Superintendent of Police of Sri Sathya Sai District in Puttaparthi on Sunday (September 14, 2025). Mr. Kumar, an IPS officer of the 2016 batch, pledged to safeguard the district’s unique identity while ensuring strong law and order.
He was accorded a traditional welcome into his chambers with the “poornakumbham” ritual by the priests. Earlier, he offered prayers at Sri Vinayaka temple and received a ceremonial guard of honour before formally assuming charge.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Kumar said that his immediate priorities would be women’s safety, cybercrime control, and strengthening peace and security across the district. He said he would visit every police station, assess local crime trends, and implement effective strategies for prevention and control. “The people of Sri Sathya Sai district can count on the police to stand by them at all times in safeguarding peace,” he said.
