The Chief Minister reaffirms that his government will act firmly against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing in the affairs of the TTD.

The Chief Minister reaffirms that his government will act firmly against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing in the affairs of the TTD.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday clarified that his statements on the alleged “ghee scam” in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams were based strictly on the findings of a report submitted by the National Dairy Development Board, and that his sole objective was to safeguard the sanctity of the Tirumala temple.

Addressing the media at his residence here, the Chief Minister accused the previous YSR Congress Party government of committing grave wrongs at Tirumala. He said it was ironic that YSRCP leaders were now resorting to political attacks and mudslinging against the present government.

Mr. Naidu said a Special Investigation Team had been constituted to probe the alleged irregularities in the affairs of the TTD during the YSRCP regime. “When I order an inquiry to identify and punish those responsible for wrongdoing, there are demands that I should apologise instead. This is unacceptable,” he said.

Stating that protecting the sanctity of the Tirumala temple was his responsibility, the Chief Minister said there would be no compromise on accountability. He alleged that the previous government had indulged in misconduct in the administration of the temple and was now launching counter-attacks to evade scrutiny.

Mr. Naidu said he always approached the shrine as an ordinary devotee. “I visit the temple with humility, like any other pilgrim. Ultimately, it is the Lord who watches everything,” he said.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that his government would act firmly against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing in the affairs of the TTD, and stressed that faith, transparency and institutional integrity must be upheld without political interference.
