“India has the potential and opportunity to offer world-class trekking and hiking experiences. We will develop ecologically sustainable Turtle Trails along key nesting sites in the coastal areas of Odisha, Karnataka, and Kerala,” the Finance Minister said in her Budget speech.

There are several turtle nesting sites along Karnataka’s vast coastline.

The Forest Department has undertaken turtle conservation efforts to ensure survival of turtles and their hatchlings.
