A large number of devotees continue to visit Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara in Medaram, Mulugu district of Telangana. Gareth Wynn Owen, British Deputy High Commissioner, visited the tribal shrine and offered prayers on Friday (January 31, 2026). Dressed in traditional handloom attire, he participated in the Thulabaram ritual. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Minister Seethakka and the District Collector T.S. Diwakara briefed him on the significance of the Medaram Maha Jatara and the arrangements made for devotees, as per a press note.
