Kumbabhishekam of 4,044 temples done since May 2021

With the conduct of the Kumbabhishekam of 75 temples on Wednesday, the total number of temples whose consecration has been completed in the State since May 2021 stands at 4,044. Among the temples consecrated on Wednesday were Sri Rajagopalaswamy Temple in Mannargudi, Kalyana Venkatramanaswamy Temple in Thanthondrimalai, Adi Thiruvarangam Temple in Kallakurichi, and Semathamman Temple in Perambur in Chennai. Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekarbabu, who witnessed the Kumbabhishekam at the temple in Perambur along with Kaumara Mutt Siranai Aadheenam,Velakurichi Aadheenam and the Sriperumbudur Jeeyar, said the government had allocated ₹425 crore for the initiative and along with funds from donors and temples, works had commenced in 352 temples that were over a thousand years of age.
