The Hyderabad police on Wednesday conducted a special counselling and review session for rowdy-sheeters in the Secunderabad zone as part of efforts to strengthen preventive policing and maintain law and order. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshitha Krishna Murthy held the session at the DCP Office premises in Amberpet, summoning both active and inactive rowdy sheeters from all police station limits under the zone.

Addressing those present, the DCP issued a stern warning that any involvement in criminal activities, land settlements or acts of intimidation against the public would not be tolerated. She made it clear that the police would closely monitor their activities and that repeat offences would invite strict legal action, including the invocation of the Preventive Detention Act.

At the same time, the DCP encouraged the individuals to reform and reintegrate into society as law-abiding citizens. She urged them to distance themselves from unlawful associations and adopt constructive livelihoods, stressing that the police were willing to support genuine efforts at reform.

The counselling session was attended by Assistant Commissioners of Police and Station House Officers from all police stations in the Secunderabad zone. Police officials said the initiative was aimed at curbing repeat offences, reinforcing deterrence and instilling a greater sense of safety among residents of the zone.
