Filmmaker-director Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt have been booked for fraud at the Versova police station.

Mumbai:

Renowned filmmaker-director Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt have been booked for fraud at the Versova police station. According to the police, the accused allegedly took crores of rupees from businessmen by promising high returns on investments in films and other projects.

However, the promised returns were neither given nor was the invested amount returned on time.

A businessman filed a complaint with the police in this case, alleging that Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt defrauded him of Rs 13.5 crore.

Based on the complaint, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) registered a case against both accused at the Versova police station. The case has been handed over to the EOW for further investigation.

Earlier in December 2025, Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt were sent to seven-day police custody by a local court in Udaipur in connection with a fraud case involving over Rs 30 crore.

Vikram Bhatt’s film career

Filmmaker, writer, and producer Vikram Bhatt, born on January 27, 1969, has directed several films in his career. He is best known for movies such as Raaz (2002), Ghulam (1998), and Maaya: Slave of Her Desires (2017). He is married to Indian art curator Shwetambari Bhatt.
