Samaj opposes Lingayat Hadapad community entering as Savita community in the survey

The Savita Samaj members have demanded the government curb Lingayat Hadapad caste people from entering as Savita Samaj during the socio-educational survey.

Addressing a press conference, Appanna Chinnakar, district president of Savita Samaj, alleged that the Hadapada caste people who are recognised as ‘Lingayat Hadapad’ and come under the 3B category are trying to mention their caste as ‘Savita Community’ in the survey to get the benefit provided to Savita Samaj under the 2A category. If such a move came into reality, the financially and socially backward Savita Samaj would suffer. Hence, the State government shouldn’t allow the Lingayat Hadapad caste people to enter into the survey as the Savita community.
