The Gadwal Samsthan, one of the oldest and largest Samsthans in India with a history spanning over 400 years, has reaffirmed its commitment to cultural preservation and religious patronage through upcoming offerings and programmes.
Krishna Ram Bhupal of Gadwal Samsthan announced that during the nine days of Dasara and Navratri, Gadwal sarees will be presented to Maa Jogulamba Ammavaru, the presiding deity at Alampur in Gadwal district.
Maa Jogulamba, revered as one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas and the only Shakti Peeth in Telangana, holds immense spiritual significance and continues to attract devotees from across the country.
Gudi Sambaralu
In continuation of its ancestral legacy, Gadwal Samsthan is also organising a special cultural programme titled ‘Gudi Sambaralu’ on September 23 and 24 at the Prashad Complex of the temple.
Curated by the Parampara Foundation and supported by the Endowments Department of Telangana, the event will feature performances and presentations highlighting the traditions of Maa Jogulamba.
On August 28, the Samsthan, along with traditional Gadwal weavers, presented the sacred Gadwal Jodu Panchalu to Lord Venkateswara for the annual Brahmotsavams in Tirumala.
During the visit, discussions with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) officials highlighted Gadwal’s historic contributions, which include donations of jewellery, establishment of flower gardens, and centuries of religious patronage.
Mr. Bhupal said that these practices not only preserve spiritual and cultural identity but also contribute to the social and economic development of Gadwal. He emphasised that the Samsthan remains dedicated to sustaining its legacy for future generations, fostering cultural pride and wider recognition for the region.
All devotees have been invited to attend the Gudi Sambaralu.
