The Railway police arrested two labourers and recovered 26 kg of ganja on January 19. They were allegedly smuggling the drugs in a train from Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru.

The accused, identified as Bichitrananda Pattanayak, 33, and Chaitanya Jainkar, 25, were allegedly caught red-handed along with the baggage as soon as they got down at the station.

The duo allegedly confessed that they sourced the ganja from a contact person in Odisha and brought the drugs to the city to sell it to their clients.

The police have booked the duo under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and are investigating to ascertain their network.
