Superintendent of police Deepan M.N. has suspended, pending further inquiry, Sub-Inspector of Police Sunil Bandiwaddar of Kadra Police Station in Uttara Kannada for negligence and dereliction of duty.
This follows a preliminary investigation of the death of a young girl who, before ending her life, had accused Chirag Kotarkar, son of a local Janata Dal(S) leader, of harassment.
The Superintendent of Police’s order said that there was a marked negligence in the handling of the case.
