Popular Tamil actor Vijay embarked on his first State-wide political tour from Tiruchi on Saturday (September 13, 2025), more than a year after floating the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in February 2024.
A caravan-like, custom-built campaign vehicle, fitted with a public address system has been readied by the party for Mr. Vijay’s use during his campaign.
The campaign bus has brightly painted images of iconic leaders, including C.N. Annadurai and M.G. Ramachandran, and it also features the campaign slogan, “I am coming.” For the actor-turned politician, this is the very first political tour of the State, and on September 13, he is scheduled to address rallies in Tiruchi and neighbouring Ariyalur and Permbalur districts. The first rally was scheduled to begin at 10.35 a.m. and the day’s events will end by 7 p.m., the party said.
Ariyalur police on Friday accorded conditional permission to conduct the TVK leader’s campaign in Ariyalur and Perambalur.
