Around 800 engineering students from various streams participated in the engineering innovation exhibitions, Prayog Hemanth 2026 and Avinya Hemanth 2026, organised by the Centre for Engineering Education Research (CEER) of KLE Technological University (KLETU) in Hubballi on Tuesday.
In the event held at Dr. Prabhakar Kore Sports Arena, 144 teams took part in Prayog Hemanth and 148 teams in Avinya Hemanth, showcasing their creativity and technical prowess through working prototypes and innovative concepts.
Inaugurating the event, Vice-Chancellor of KLETU Prakash Tewari emphasised the pivotal role of engineering in problem-solving.
He highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary skills, mechatronic system design and design thinking to address societal challenges through practical, hands-on engagement.
Executive Dean B.L. Desai, Dean R&D Uma Mudenagudi, Dean of Students Welfare Sanjay Kotabagi and heads of various departments were present.
The exhibitions featured an impressive array of student innovations, ranging from practical solutions such as an automatic vegetable cutting machine to creative concepts like the dream generator, demonstrating the ability of students to apply design thinking to real-world problem statements.
