The police on Thursday (Janauray 8, 2025) arrested a Kovoor native with 200 grams of suspected MDMA during a flash inspection in Kozhikode city. The accused was identified as Pulikkal Veettil Arun Kumar, 28.
It was the third time Arun Kumar was reportedly caught with such a commercial quantity of suspected synthetic drugs. The police said he was suspected of frequently smuggling the costly drug from Bengaluru.
On January 6, the police arrested another four-member gang, including a woman, with 712 grams of suspected MDMA. Officers of the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force said the flash inspections would continue with the support of local police in the wake of the latest intelligence inputs.
