The Kurnool police on Friday (September 12, 2025) arrested an alleged automobile burglar and recovered 32 stolen motorcycles worth ₹16 lakh.
Kurnool Deputy Superintendent of Police J. Babu Prasad said that they had received a complaint of motorcycle theft from Bhupal Complex in the city from one Niranjan recently and an investigation was launched. A special team was formed and accused Telugu Jayanth alias Jaswanth of Gadwal town in neighbouring Telangana was arrested.
Police recovered 32 motorcycles which were stolen from various police station limits. Mr. Prasad said that the police stations were informed about the recovery of stolen vehicles from their limits and the same will be handed over to the owners based on the vehicle engine and chassis numbers.
Mr. Prasad said that the bikes were stolen from various junctions, hospitals, and houses and the accused was arrested with the help of CCTV.
