Member of Parliament (Nellore) Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, MLC Beeda Ravichandra and Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy inaugurate a drinking water plant facilitated by VPR Foundation in Thotapalli Gudur mandal of Nellore district on Friday.

Member of Parliament (Nellore) Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy on Friday (January 2) announced the launch of 19 additiona drinking water plants through VPR Foundation across his Lok Sabha constituency over the next fortnight, i.e., before Sankranti festival. The foundation already manages 170 drinking water units across Nellore district.

A water plant under the ‘Amruthadhara project’ was formally inaugurated by Mr. Prabhakar Reddy, along with MLC Beeda Ravichandra and Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, at Mungaladoruvu village in Thotapalli Gudur mandal on Friday.

Mr. Ravichandra, who is also the Nellore district TDP President, thanked Mr. Prabhakar Reddy for launching social assets through his personal foundation, apart from bringing in Central funds. “The distribution of 1,050 battery-operated tricycles to differently abled persons is a major milestone in ensuring their mobility,” he pointed out.

Mr. Chandramohan Reddy said the tribepeople living in the hinterland of his constituency lacked basic amenities and, as such, such charitable activities leave a major impact on them.

The foundation will launch a medical screening exclusively for tribespeople in Kovur and Kavali constituencies on January 4 (Sunday).

At a function organised later, the leaders formally handed over the new pattadar passbooks to farmers.

Mr. Prabhakar Reddy also inaugurated a similar water plant in Ramatheertham village of Vidavalur mandal under Kovur assembly constituency.

APSRTC Regional Chairperson (Nellore) S. Suresh Reddy, AP Inland Waterways Authority Chairperson Z. Sivaprasad, TDP district general secretary Chejerla Venkateswara Reddy, BJP district president Vamsidhar Reddy and TDP leader Ketamreddy Vinod Reddy were among the participants.
