Four newly-nominated MLCs — K. Shivakumar, F. H. Jakkappanavar, Dr. Arathi Krishna and Ramesh Babu — took oath as members of the Upper House in Karnataka on September 11.

Legislative Council Chairperson Basavaraj Horatti administered the oath to them.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar and a host of ministers, including Home Minister G. Parameshwara, were present during the swearing-in ceremony that took place in the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.
