Avinash Mohanty takes charge first Police Commissioner of Malkajgiri

Senior IPS officer Avinash Mohanty assumed charge as the first Commissioner of the newly-constituted Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate on Tuesday (December 30, 2025).

Soon after taking charge, Mr. Mohanty held a meeting with senior and field-level officers at the commissionerate office in Neredmet, where he outlined his priorities and approach to policing in the new jurisdiction.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said his focus would be on strengthening the functioning of the police department, ensuring public safety and maintaining robust law and order across the commissionerate limits. He said special measures would be taken to effectively control crime and make police services more accessible and responsive to citizens.
