National badminton tournament in Vijayawada concludes

The finals of the 87th Yonex Sunrise Senior National Badminton Championship, which began on December 24, concluded at the Chennupati Ramakotaiah Indoor Stadium in Vijayawada on Sunday.

The five-day championship brought together badminton talent from across the nation. In the finals, players competed in various categories, including men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Surya Charishma Tamiri of Andhra Pradesh defetaed Tanvi Patri of Odisha to clinch the women’s singles title. In the men’s singles final, Rithvik Sanjeevi from Tamil Nadu beat Bharat Raghav from Haryana to emerge champion.

Former Indian badminton player and coach Pullela Gopichand, Sports Authority of A.P. Managing Director Bharani and others handed over cheques to the winners.
