Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday (December 28, 2025) said as many as 13 lakh people have been benefited through ‘Nalam Kakkum Stalin’ medical camps being conducted by the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

These medical camps are being conducted across all 38 districts, both in rural and urban areas, aimed at taking healthcare facilities to doorsteps.

“Through full-body health check-ups and consultations with specialist doctors, health issues affecting several lakh people have been identified at an early stage and referred for appropriate advanced treatment. People have also been enrolled on the spot in the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme during the camps,” he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Mr. Stalin was responding to a social media post from Congress veteran and former Union Minister P. Chidambaram, who recently visited a ‘Nalam Kakkum Stalin’ medical camp at Kandaramanickam village in Sivaganga district and appreciated the scheme for catering to the health related needs of the public.

The State Government had sanctioned ₹13.58 crore to organise 1,256 camps across the State, with priority for areas that have limited access to medical facilities. Mr. Stalin launched the initiative on August 2, this year.
