The AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Saturday slammed the DMK government for seeking to implement the distribution of laptops free of cost to students “in haste.”

In a post on his social media handle, Mr Palaniswami wondered whether the move would create credibility among people as the government, he pointed out, had done nothing in the last four and a half years. He asked Chief Minister M.K. Stalin: “Should you not feel ashamed of trying to take the credit for an action that is being done in a half-baked manner?”

Meanwhile, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Workers Rights Retrieval Kazhagam (AIADMWRRK) coordinator, O. Panneerselvam, and the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary, T.T.V. Dhinakaran urged the State government to concede the demands of secondary grade teachers.
