19 students receive training for INMO at Maris Stella College

The Department of Mathematics at Maris Stella College (Autonomous) in Vijayawada is offering training to the students of Andhra Pradesh, who have been selected for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO)-2026 to be held on January 18.

Nineteen students from Andhra Pradesh are participating in the camp at present. The resource persons are Rajat Tandon, a retired professor, and T. Suman Kumar, a professor from School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Hyderabad, Alok Kumar and Rahul Chakravathy, expert trainers in Mathematical Olympiads from New Delhi and Hyderabad respectively.

Students are being exposed to various topics covering four major areas, namely algebra, plane geometry, number theory and combinatorics, according to a press release from the college. The camp aims to strengthen students’ mathematical logic and reasoning skills and offer theoretical understanding and practical problem-solving abilities across varying levels of difficulty.

. Students will be given participation certificates and Olympiad books.
