The Mananchira-Malaparamba stretch of the Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu Road is expected to be ready by January 2026, Minister for Public Works P.A. Mohamed Riyas has said.

At a review meeting in connection with the road construction, chaired by District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh on Monday (December 22, 2025), he said the technical issues connected to the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) and the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) would be resolved soon.

The meeting decided to speed up the transfer of KWA pipelines and the construction of cross ducts. The drainage works would be completed by the end of December, and asphalting could be carried out in the first week of January. Traffic diversion would be implemented on these days in consultation with the police, the Minister said.

MLA Thottathil Raveendran, Special Deputy Collector Shamin Sebastian, Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society chairman Rameshan Paleri, officials of the Public Works department, the KWA, and the KSEB, besides representatives of the contracting company, took part in the meeting.
