Communal harmony comes to fore as inter faith residents join hands to celebrate Semi-Christmas

Principal of St. Francis College for Women in Begumpet, T. Uma Joseph, and dual Guinness World Record holder and Indian School of Business alumni, Rohit Kumar Cherukuri, were felicitated for their excellence in service, at the semi-Christmas celebrations organised at a gated community by inter-faith congregation in Old Alwal.

Coinciding with the Christmas season, Sai Srinivasam Apartment (SSA) gated community in Old Alwal, people from all faiths came together to celebrate the semi-Christmas on Saturday (December 21, 2025) night and felicitate persons with outstanding achievements. Previously, the celebrations committee had feted international veterans tennis (65 years and above category) player, Murthati Suresh, and 1962, 1965 and 1971 war veteran Warrant Officer M. R. Yohan.

An alumni of University of Hyderabad, Ms. Uma Joseph has to her credit seven books, one on the history of Telangana. This year on Teacher’s Day, she was presented with two national and one State Awards. During one of her visits to the USA, she was interviewed live by a US Television channel on their Women’s Day special telecast. She is recipient of the Telangana State Best Teacher Award in 2017

Mr. Rohit is an executive strategy and innovation advisor with more than 15 years of experience in strategic consulting, marketing, and sales working in top consulting firms, which also includes experience in working with startups. He as executed the World’s Largest Cancer Awareness initiative, ideating and implementing ideas across digital channels and social media platforms, setting two Guinness World Records .

Recently, he was recognised as Telangana’s ‘Most Admired Marketing Leaders – 2025’, an acknowledgment within the marketing and leadership community, endorsed by CMO Asia and the World Marketing Congress.

The fourth edition of the semi-Christmas celebrations is the biggest one organised in a gated community in Secunderabad area. The festivities included praise and worship, with kids performing festival theme dance.

Officer bearer of the SSA Senior Citizens Association, Satyamurthy said: “the camaraderie and festive spirit shown by the members of different faiths is appreciated and every body joyously participated. It goes a long way in fostering one society, one family motto.”

President of SSA Board of Directors, Karthik; treasurer V. Goverdhan Rao; SSA Senior Citizens Association president Ramesh Kumar; general secretary D. Rajeshwar Rao extended greetings of the season and hailed the spirit of communal harmony. Christmas Celebrations Committee members – Dr. Joseph Christadoss, P. Hector Hemasagar, Samuel Praveen Wood, Uday Emmanuel, K. Peter, Amar Ramakrishna and others were present.
