The provisional results of the second round of seat allotment for postgraduate medical course admissions will be released on December 22 instead of December 23, said H. Prasanna, Executive Director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
He explained that this decision was taken to facilitate candidates who have been allotted seats in the All India quota through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) second round and who wish to take admission there. The provisional results will be published on December 22 after 6 p.m., according to a press release.
Candidates who wish to take admission under the MCC quota may collect their original documents from the KEA office on December 23 by 4 p.m. From the fee paid to participate in this round, ₹25,000 will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be refunded on the same day, he said.
The postgraduate seats that are provisionally allotted in the second round but get cancelled due to candidates opting for MCC seats will be re-allotted to eligible candidates within the same round. The final results will be published on December 24. Final seat allotment will be done based on the preferences/options already submitted by candidates, he added.
Candidates who are allotted seats in the second round must compulsorily take admission. However, candidates who take admission in this round will still be allowed to participate in the third round. The relevant guidelines have been revised accordingly, Mr. Prasanna said.
