Five held for alleged abduction of passenger from airport premises

The Nedumbassery police arrested five youths for allegedly abducting a passenger who landed at the Cochin International Airport from Dubai in the early hours of Friday.

The arrested are Antony Nistol, 20, of Mattancherry, Hamdan Harish, 21, of Fort Kochi, Bibin Malayil, 26, of Chullikkal, Vishnu Vinod, 21, of Palluruthy, and Joel George, 22, of Nazreth, Fort Kochi.

According to police sources, they kidnapped the 40-year-old man from Kasaragod while he was walking towards the pre-paid taxi counter from the international terminal. The allegedly took away his mobile phone and bags before abandoning him near Aluva. The police registered a case on a complaint filed by the man.
