Hyderabad

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud said that BRS has no scope for revival and can only witness further erosion.

Questioning the party’s future, he asked why MLC K. Kavitha was stepping into the spotlight if BRS was on a strong footing, and remarked that even party founder K. Chandrasekhar Rao appeared to be winding down politically. In an informal chat with reporters in New Delhi on Sunday, he said that KCR’s political image could not be replicated by others in BRS.

Cabinet expansion CM’s prerogative

On organisational matters, he said the expansion of the Cabinet was not discussed with Rahul Gandhi during their meeting, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would take the call on Cabinet expansion after discussions with the party high command. Dismissing speculation about a Cabinet berth, Mr. Goud said that he had no interest in ministerial office, adding that leaders across the organisation were comfortable in their respective positions.

Praising Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Mr. Goud described him as a visionary leader. “TG government’s policies are attracting major investments. Large companies will set up operations in the proposed Fourth City. Telangana’s welfare programmes are unmatched elsewhere in the country. Hyderabad’s development is unstoppable. It is the best city in India,” he asserted.
