Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department officials arrested six individuals in multiple raids across Hyderabad and adjoining areas on Saturday and seized two kg ganja, small quantities of MDMA, illicit liquor, multiple vehicles and mobile phones from them.

In the first case, the State Task Force (STF) City team seized 1.1 kg ganja from one Panduga Bhanu. Investigators later identified the involvement of another individual, Bobbala Narendra Reddy, and registered a case against him as well. A motorcycle used in the offence was also seized, and the accused along with the contraband were handed over to the Bhongir excise station.

In a separate raid in Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Colony, the STF-D team conducted inspections and apprehended Reniguntla Ajay, 23, while he was allegedly selling ganja. The team seized 100 grams of ganja and 0.40 grams of MDMA from him. The accused, along with the drugs, his two-wheeler and mobile phone were handed over to the KPHB excise station.

Another raid was carried out in Musheerabad, leading to the seizure of 480 grams of ganja from a man identified as Abdul Samad. His mobile phone and motorcycle were also confiscated, and he was produced before the Musheerabad excise station along with the seized contraband.

In the fourth case near the Hanuman Temple in Bagh Lingampally area of Chikkadpally, an STF team seized 230 grams of ganja and arrested Avadhoota Harshavardhan. The accused and the banned substance were handed over to the Chikkadpally excise station for further action.

Meanwhile, officials seized 20 bottles of illicit liquor during inspections at the Indian Family Dhaba and Restaurant in Annaram village on the Hyderabad–Narsapur highway. Two accused, identified as G. Hemanth Kumar and G. Keshav Kumar, both residents of Gummadidala mandal in Sangareddy district, were booked. According to AES Srinivas Rao, the accused, a two-wheeler and the seized liquor bottles were handed over to the Patancheru excise station for further investigation.
