The AIADMK will stage a demonstration in Tambaram on December 16 against the DMK government’s alleged failure in providing basic civic amenities and maintaining essential healthcare services for the people, party’s general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced on Tuesday (December 9, 2025).
In a statement, Mr. Palaniswami accused the DMK government of neglecting public health and civic administration, which has placed thousands of residents at serious risk. He also criticised the government over the hike in property tax for homes and commercial establishments.
He said the construction of the government hospital in Tambaram at a cost of ₹110 crore without adequate doctors, nurses, drinking water supply, or sanitation staff rendered the facility “unfit for patients”. He alleged that major ponds have turned into open sewage pits, creating a breeding ground for disease.
Senior AIADMK functionaries R.B. Udayakumar and S. Rajendran and former MPs and MLAs will take part in the demonstration scheduled to commence at 4 p.m. on December 16.
