Driver killed in tanker-truck collision in Prakasam district

An oil tanker driver was burnt alive when his vehicle hit another truck at Penchikalapadu village of Bestavaaripeta mandal in Prakasam district, on Monday evening.

According to police officials, Adi Seshaiah, a truck driver coming from Anantapur, hit the tanker containing hazardous oil at Penchikalapadu around 4:30 p.m.. The tanker’s cabin was totally burnt and the driver died on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Durga Rao (41) from Rajahmundry. Bestavaaripeta police registered a case under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing death by rash or negligent act against Adi Seshaiah.
