Even as the crisis appeared to ease, air travel disruptions continued on Saturday when nine of the 20 IndiGo flights scheduled from Visakhapatnam International Airport to destinations including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata were cancelled.

The remaining 11 flights operated as planned. At Vijayawada International Airport, a Delhi-bound IndiGo service was cancelled while the Singapore-bound flight was delayed by an hour. Other routes operated without delay.

While the IndiGo crisis has caused widespread disruption for flyers in major cities, the impact at Vijayawada has been limited. The airport has seen delays over the past three days, but cancellations have been few. Airport authorities said this was because IndiGo operates smaller ATR-72 aircraft with a seating capacity of up to 78 at Vijayawada, and these services have been less affected by the crew shortage. Larger aircraft are deployed only on the Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore routes.
