The Women Safety Wing of the Telangana police on Friday entered into two partnerships aimed at strengthening community safety, youth leadership and gender-sensitisation programmes across the State. The agreements were signed through the Bharosa Society for Protection of Women and Children.

The first memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with Rubaroo, a Hyderabad-based organisation focused on youth leadership and gender sensitisation. The two-year collaboration aims to support training, content development and awareness activities for women, children and other vulnerable groups across schools, colleges and communities.

The partnership will include the co-development of training material on gender and digital safety, preparation of master trainers, delivery of awareness sessions and support to existing initiatives run by SHE Teams, Bharosa Centres, Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women, and Anti-Human Trafficking units. It will also ensure that child safeguarding measures, data protection standards and POSH Act compliance are followed.

The second MoU was signed with the Youngistaan Foundation to strengthen and expand the My Safe Village programme, which is being implemented in 126 villages across seven districts in partnership with My Choices Foundation. The collaboration seeks to build a mentor network for adolescents and youth trained under the programme, provide long-term guidance, enhance leadership skills and create youth ambassadors to support community vigilance and safety awareness.

The foundation will also support content development, documentation, volunteer mobilisation and field-level implementation. The Women Safety Wing will coordinate with district units, SHE Teams and Anti-Human Trafficking Units to ensure effective delivery. Both groups will undertake joint monitoring and planning to ensure measurable progress. ADGP Charu Sinha said the partnership marks a significant step in expanding youth-centred safety initiatives and will help turn the My Safe Village programme into a community-driven and sustainable movement for safeguarding women, children and young people across Telangana.
