Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana on Saturday said the government is committed to resolving all pending issues faced by farmers in the Amaravati capital region and assured that full justice would be done in accordance with the rules.
He was speaking after a review meeting of the three-member committee formed to address farmer grievances related to the land pooling scheme. Union Minister Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, MLA Sravan Kumar, CRDA Commissioner K. Kannababu, Guntur District Collector Thameem Ansariya, and several farmers attended the meeting in Amaravati.
Mr. Narayana said the government had been consistently directing officials to resolve long-standing concerns. The meeting discussed issues such as village boundary plots, street-aligned plots, discrepancies between Jareebu and non-Jareebu classifications, and matters concerning assigned lands. He said all village boundary allotments would be verified to ensure they were made in accordance with regulations.
He added that plots affected by road alignments would be reallocated after verification and that issues related to assigned lands would be taken up separately in the Cabinet for a final decision. Farmers losing land to Roads and Buildings (R&B) projects would be compensated through Transferable Development Rights (TDR) bonds.
The Minister noted that farmers had voluntarily contributed 34,000 acres within 58 days during the earlier land pooling process, greatly aiding capital development. However, he reiterated that individual benefits outside policy norms could not be considered.
On disputed lands, Mr. Narayana said the government would begin land acquisition immediately if court cases are withdrawn by December 3, and added that the land pooling programme would continue with farmers willing to participate.
