The Delhi police on Thursday arrested a member of the Himanshu Bhau gang following an exchange of fire, resulting in injury to the latter’s leg. A constable narrowly escaped injury after one bullet hit him during the exchange of fire. Thanks to a bulletproof jacket he wore.

The suspect, Ankit, 25, a resident of Sonipat, Haryana, was carrying a reward of ₹25,000.

He was allegedly involved in a shootout where a member of another gang, Rohit Lamba, was targeted in Najafgarh by four persons on October 28, 2025 and fled the scene.

The police began probing the incident last month and registered a case under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. The police had also arrested four suspects in the case, while two shooters were absconding. After interrogating the arrested persons, those absconding were identified as Ankit and Deepak. Delhi police had placed a reward of ₹25,000 for each of their arrest.

On Thursday, the team of the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Dwarka received information that Ankit was spotted near the Sai Baba temple in Najafgarh.
