Vijayendra apprises Amit Shah of political developments in Karnataka

Amidst leadership tussle in the Congress government in Karnataka, BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra on Sunday met Union Home Minister and the party’s key strategist Amit Shah in Delhi.

A release from the party said that Mr. Vijayendra met the Union Home Minister to congratulate him for his role in ensuring the victory of the NDA in Bihar polls which had come to be known as a pointer to the country’s politics.

However, the release noted that political developments in Karnataka too came up for discussion during the meeting. Mr. Vijayendra apprised the Union Home Minister on the ongoing political developments in Karnataka.

Mr. Shah gave instructions regarding strengthening the party organisation in Karnataka, the release noted.

Mr. Vijayendra’s Delhi visit was being keenly watched as it came amidst the past-paced developments in the Congress in Karnataka. In fact, the BJP has been alleging that the administration has been completely ignored in Karnataka amidst leadership tussle and claiming that political instability has started gripping the State.

Some of the party leaders have also alleged horse trading too is going on in the ruling party, which has been strongly denied by the Congress leaders.

The meeting between both the leaders was being watched as the party central unit is yet to take a call on whether to continue Mr. Vijayendra as the State president or appoint a new president.
