The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri witnessed a heavy rush of devotees on Sunday (November 23). The temple administration managed to ensure seamless darshan throughout the day.

Between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the peak rush hours, Executive Officer (EO) and Special Grade Deputy Collector V.K. Seena Naik monitored the situation, moving among the devotees and issuing instructions to staff through the public-address system.

To regulate traffic on the hill, all VIP vehicles were stopped at Om Turning, from where elderly persons and VIP devotees were transported uphill in battery-operated vehicles arranged for the day. Special duties were assigned to temple staff deployed across the premises, ghat road and Kanakadurga Nagar to prevent any inconvenience to pilgrims.

Thanks to these meticulous arrangements, devotees were able to have a smooth antaralaya darshan without any interruptions. Temple authorities and staff worked together to manage the crowd.

Meanwhile, the temple administration announced that the Surya Prasanna Seva, a special ritual dedicated to Lord Surya, is performed at 8 a.m. every Sunday at the sanctum sanctorum of the Goddess. Entry is limited to two persons per ticket, and the combined fee is ₹1,000.

The temple management urged devotees to make use of this sacred service, noting that scriptures glorify Lord Surya as the giver of food and life-energy to all beings, and that sincere worship of the Sun God is believed to bring health, prosperity and longevity.
